Greetings from KNSV

Dear Friends and Patrons,

This is our humble effort to begin to reconnect with all of you. The academic year 2016- 2017 is well into its second month. Summer holidays have been declared from the 5th of May this year because of the intense heat wave sweeping across our state, Bihar.

Two major events have happened in the school campus. The Uma Baleshwar Trust has successfully completed the construction of the proposed library cum activity centre. The furnishing work is underway and is expected to start functioning fully by the month end. We are posting some photographs.

The second and the most awaited project that commenced construction is of the classrooms. The Government of Bihar gave us a grant of INR 1,00,00,000 for contruction of classrooms. As we post this report, the construction of four classrooms and a hall which may be used as a laboratory is complete. The finishing works have commenced. We can safely assume that these will be ready to use soon.

Post independence, Mahatma Gandhi advocated opening of self-reliant educational institutions. To promote education he stressed on the principle of ‘Sarva-Shiksha’ or 'Education for all'. The goal was to reach basic education to one and all especially to the economically deprived and challenged class of the society. A visionary that he was he saw education as the only means to the road of success,prosperity and development of our country.

A true Gandhian in spirit and soul and an ardent follower, Smt. Prabhawati Devi wife of esteemed Shri Jaya Prakash Narayan ( better known as J.P.) along with Dr.Rajendra Prasad and other leaders of the Congress Party established and started the Shishu Vihar”. Smt Prabhawati Devi was a close friend of Smt.Kamla Nehru.Hence she thought it fit to name her dream project after her close friend Kamla Nehru jee and thus the name Kamla Nehru Shishu Vihar or KNSV as we call it in short.

KNSV was conceived and established as a non-profit organization in the year 1963. They dreamed of reaching low cost and quality education to all, even to the most humble and marginalised strata of the society. It was set as a model educational institution based on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore. The concept was adopted from the famous “Shantiniketan” school.The motto was to not deny admission to any child, more so, to those belonging to the economically challenged and marginalised background and even to those who were unable to pay their fees. Nestled amidst a mango orchard and in perfect harmony with nature KNSV has always striven to fulfil the now much talked about constitutional guarantee of ‘Right to Education’ to children. This objective is being followed even today with due determination.

Our Thrust Areas in 2020- 21

1. WITH A FOCUSSED AND A FUTURISTIC APPROACH KNSV IS NOW READY TO EMBARK ON A JOURNEY TO FACILITATE QUALITY EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT AND CREATING AWARENESS AMONG ALL IT’S STUDENTS TO BRIDGE THE KNOWLEDGE GAP IN LINE WITH CURRENT TECHNOLOGY & AND ITS FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS.
2. WE HAVE SET OUR VISION THAT ONE DAY, EVERY CHILD IN THIS SCHOOL WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTAIN GOOD EDUCATION & CAREER.
3. WE WISH TO EDUCATE AND EMPOWER THE GIRL STUDENTS TO LIVE A LIFE OF RESPECT AND DIGNITY.
4. IT IS OUR OBJECTIVE TO HAVE A FULLY EQUIPPED COMPUTER LAB WITH NETWORKING AND INTERNET TO BRING THE WORLD VIRTUALLY IN CAMPUS OF KNSV.
5. SPECIALISED TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS IN THE FIELD OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
6. TO MAKE OUR CAMPUS GREEN AND CLEAN. TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AMONG OUR STUDENTS.
